5 Questions with Alexander Häußler
1. Where were you/what did you do before working at Seriously?
Before I moved to Finland for Seriously, I worked in Germany on successful projects like Diamond Dash and Bubble Island 2 from Wooga. I quickly discovered that working on games for a huge player audience is an exciting thing to do and that’s why I am now thrilled to develop the next big game in the Best Fiends universe.
2. What is your current role at Seriously?
I am a senior programmer and my daily work is to combine the big ideas of game designers and the beautiful work of our artists into a working game. I write a lot of programming code to create new features for the game and I make the game do what it should do to make sure our players have an exciting experience without any problems.
3. What’s your favorite part about your job?
I like to bring things to life. As a programmer, I have the power to make everything possible on a mobile screen. It is a lot fun to test different effects to make every moment in the game feel magical. It’s very rewarding for me to create a beautiful gameplay experience with lots of animated bits and smooth transitions.
4. Who is your favorite Fiend or Slug and why?
Nog! It was love at first sight. There is something about him that I can’t get out of my head. Maybe it’s the nose, or his eyes? He even became my profile picture for a while!
5. When you are not working at Seriously or playing Best Fiends, what do you enjoy doing?
I am a game addict. I like to play console games and explore new games. Sometimes I take a break and snowboard or enjoy nature. I actually really enjoy the Finnish winter. But a lot of my free time goes to getting lost in an epic cinematic game. It is amazing how a good game can make you feel happy and satisfied.
