5 Questions with Tess Thormodsgaard
1. Where were you/what did you do before working at Seriously?
Before joining Seriously, I worked at Maker Studios on branded integrations. And before that, I worked at a variety of media companies.
2. What is your current role at Seriously?
I’m a Marketing Director at Seriously with a focus on community and influence. My team and I work to build and engage with the Best Fiends community. Our team also produces and programs our video and social content, such as The Best Best Fiends Show, Community Stories, and Best Fiends Bites, across all of our channels, which includes anything from YouTube to Pinterest to our websites to the Minutian News Center in the game. I also run all of our Influencer Marketing, liaise with our awesome PR team, and work on brand messaging both in the game and on larger marketing initiatives.
3. What’s your favorite part about your job?
I love working on The Best Best Fiends Show and seeing how it’s grown and how our fans have taken to it. It’s such a great way to showcase our awesome product. We have such an amazing group of people working on that show (both internally and externally) that make it such a blast! The show of course wouldn’t be possible if the company wasn’t so innovative and engaging.
4. Who is your favorite Fiend or Slug and why?
Lapoleon (in his 5th stage), is the CLEAR winner. His thimble hat is adorable and powerful; his matchstick scepter – genius and hilarious; his name and bio – incredible! I also LOVE some of our Exclusive Fiend Styles, like Arctic Woody! Everything at Seriously is done with such attention to detail and is thought through so thoroughly, and our characters are no exception. Our Slugs are all so great and have so many personalities. I do adore Salaryman Trey Slug and proudly showcase him on my work computer.
5. When you are not working at Seriously or playing Best Fiends, what do you enjoy doing?
Not much makes me happier than afternoon tea. But when I’m not enjoying a delightful cup of tea and a petit four, I’m trying new restaurants, watching all the Netflix/Hulu/Prime shows, and enjoying the awesome LA weather with my husband and our adorable dog.
